Find A Publication Format To Fit Your Needs And Reach Your Audience:

Journals
All journals are published online to ensure rapid publication, links to references, search capabilities, and inclusion of videos. Papers are peer reviewed and edited. Our Green Open Access (OA) policy has no article processing charges. All papers are included in ASTM International’s Compass™ subscription. Go to the journal’s page for e-submission, author instructions, and style manual. All journals have a diverse, experienced Editorial Board.

Selected Technical Papers (STPs)
Papers presented at ASTM symposia are submitted for peer review and publication in an STP in print and online. The STP collection has over 29,000 published papers.

Manuals
Manuals are practical books offering the reader hands-on, applied information. They are heavily illustrated, contain useful guidance, and include detailed references. Some manuals offer “behind-the-scenes” details on ASTM standards – how the standards were developed and why, including their significance and use. They illustrate tips for conducting tests and practical advice. Manuals are excellent field, laboratory, and instructional tools.

Data Series
Data Series cover specific applications, contain data, and usually include explanatory text. If you have compiled data that you know is valuable and yet inaccessible, ASTM may be your vehicle for publication.

Monographs
Monographs are resource document for advanced level specialists. Monographs cover highly technical topics. They focus on very specific aspects of a larger topic – or niche subjects. Often, monographs offer valuable theory in one focused area to a technically sophisticated audience.

Technical Reports
Technical reports provide data, recommendations, and conclusions from the research of ASTM technical committees. And they provide insights on the current state, challenges, and processes surrounding this research, with expertise garnered from both ISO and ASTM authors.

ASTM Technical Journals

Advances In Civil Engineering Materials
ASTM’s premier civil engineering journal, covering the properties and performance of civil engineering materials. Papers present advances in concrete, asphalt, steel, polymers and polymeric composites, and wood. Other materials used in civil and environmental engineering applications such as pavements, bridges, and buildings, including nonstructural building elements such as insulation and roofing, and environmental systems such as water treatment are covered.

Smart And Sustainable Manufacturing Systems
This journal fosters transdisciplinary research that crosses the boundaries of information science, systems engineering and engineering design, manufacturing, and product life cycle with a focus on how to make manufacturing systems smarter and sustainable. Materials include information modeling, advanced manufacturing and infrastructure, computing and analytics, and additive manufacturing.

Materials Performance Characterization
ASTM International’s premier materials journal covering all aspects of material processing, structure, properties, and performance in engineering systems. The journal provides high-quality papers on both the theoretical and practical aspects of the processing, structure, properties, and performance of materials used in mechanical, transportation, aerospace, energy, and medical devices. Materials covered include metals and alloys, glass and ceramics, polymers, composite materials, and textiles and nanomaterials.

Geotechnical Testing Journal
The purpose of the Geotechnical Testing Journal is (1) to provide a high-quality publication that informs the profession of new developments in soil and rock testing and related fields; (2) to provide a forum for the exchange of information, particularly that which leads to the development of new test procedures; and (3) to stimulate active participation of the profession in the work of ASTM International Committee D18 on Soil and Rock and related information.

Journal Of Testing And Evaluation
This flagship ASTM journal is a multidisciplinary forum for the applied sciences and engineering. The Journal of Testing and Evaluation presents new technical information, derived from field and laboratory testing, on the performance, quantitative characterization, and evaluation of materials. Papers present new methods
and data along with critical evaluations; report users’ experience with test methods and results of interlaboratory testing and analysis; and stimulate new ideas in the fields of testing and evaluation.
